I'm busy making four softie money boxes for Mahar Drygoods as part of my Softie Awards prize, and with the improvement in the weather so comes an improvement in how I'm making the money boxes. I actually feel really proud of myself - but I'm sorry to say this: please please don't copy my work. I've seen a couple of pieces of work this morning where people have made things that look far too much like my own to not worry. And I'm worried. Especially about money boxes. The thought of anyone copying those makes me want to cry. So I am a bit dubious about showing work in progress photos but hopefully no-one will copy. Please please don't.
I've adapted the money slot to create a much neater and stronger one. And I'm pleased with it. Next I wanted to work on the base, trying to make it more secure so that there's no chance of your money falling out!
And added a little powder puff kind of plug for extra strength and security.
I'm so pleased with those changes. It all looks more professional to me and it works - all the money actually stays in even if you shake it! So here he is (why do my toys always seem to be boys?!)
One down three to go! Can you guess which one I'm making now?
And I'll leave you with a photo of their little bottom covers!
