Thinking

« August 2007 | Main | October 2007 »

flat out busy

Now you may be wondering what on earth has happened to toys, stationery, and lovely Cupcakes for Clara themed products. Me too! Somehow time just runs away without me on board. But instead of focusing on what I'm not quite managing to get done inbetween my new (but also old, because I'm back at the same company after a break) full time job making puppets, I'm looking at the good stuff. And there is lots of it - I'm very thankful for my life. And the people in it.

And to share my goodness, I think I can sum it up with this...

Frommere

Stables

This is where I spent the day yesterday. Kenilworth Castle (our wedding venue to be), with Tom, his mum, and my mum. And it was cold and blustery but lovely.

I am a lucky, lucky girl.

(new making of and product photos are on their way - promise!)

Oh pie!

Taking a bit of a break from stressful things this weekend and making a lovely pie...

Pie1

... that is a little bit, well, - look away now if you would rather not view overtly love-y things.

Pie2

Pie3

I used my lovely I love you cookie cutters to make the letters. And of course Tom was very impressed and loved it, although he wasn't so impressed that I made pie. He thinks I am trying to fatten him up to make myself look better for the wedding!
As if?!
But I have to say, it did taste pretty good - I think it was the cinnamon.

And I remembered that I haven't shown anyone the poster I was working on a couple of weeks ago...

Poster1

If anyone would like one, please do send me an e-mail.

Slowly slowly

Oh yes, it's getting there, slowly, but still there. There is light at the end of the tunnel, it's a very small kind of teeny tiny torch shining about six miles away kind of light but hey, it's definately there!

Yesterday I printed out all of the invitation wording sections, and the RSVP cards. Woo hoo!

Dsc00022

And just in case you're interested, which I am very much, here is what I'm going to be wearing (it's called Natalia) on the day these invitations are for.

But if you are Tom don't even think about clicking on this link buddy, unless you are prepared for BIG trouble!.

And these are my shoes. And this is my lovely country style warmth. It is in December after all!

Also, here is a bit more of my soon to be entry for the Holiday Softie Awards

Why oh why...

...did I think that it was a good idea to make our wedding invitations? And pop-up wedding invitations at that?! What is wrong with me? As if there isn't enough to do without creating 35 intricate works of art to send to our potential guests - not even actual guests just potential ones!

Honestly I sometimes wonder what my brain is thinking. It reminds me of a podcast I love listening to, by Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington, when Karl wonders what the difference is between your mind and your brain. Well I can tell you this... my brain and mind form a very big pile of mush.

So, we have to have them sent out in two weeks (with rsvp's, information, gift list stuff, and directions) ad this is where we're at...

Invitewip1

Not really sure what you're looking at? Try this one...

Invitewip2

Invitewip3

And they are going to look like this
hopefully

Actually Tom is a wizz at them, it wasn't enough for him to just cut them out, he had to go and give the ones he did bevelled edges. So mine look quite amateurish in comparison. Thanks a bunch Tom! I'll keep you updated, maybe by next week we'll have the second layer cut out too?

New products have landed

Lots of beautiful one-of-a-kind items have found their place in my shop today. There are...

Tomorrow...

Shopupdateweb

Be sure to check it out! And if you don't already receive lovely little newsletters like this one, just let me know and start to fill your inbox with cuteness.

Aside from working on fun new products, I've been experimenting with an adventurous entry for the Holiday Softie Awards. What will it be I wonder?

Softiesneak

And I've been thinking about cuteness, and how much I absolutely adore one particular song that Tom put on a new compilation he made for me. It really makes my heart melt. It's called I Like Giants by Kimya Dawson who you may know from the Mouldy Peaches. You can hear a bit of it here, I think.

just a little note...

... to let you know that in a couple of days there will be some exciting new things heading into the shop. I don't have any sneak peeks for you, but hopefully will return tomorrow with some more info.

In the meantime look forward to newness, and stay tuned...

Busy busy busy

Working on quite a few things all at once...

1. A new little green fattie crocodile
2. Cupcake keyrings
3. Knitting red-breasts for robins - although I'm not very good at knitting so it's taking a while
4. Embroidered badges
5. Grumpy Clara tote bags - note to self, remember to iron things before you photograph them

The tote bags will feature Grumpy Clara pockets helped along the way by my lovely and very exiting big new bottle of bubble jet set. I'm still trying to work out the kinks and get beautiful vivid colours. Does anyone have any tips?

And I've been making badges...

Dsc00100_2

I'm not sure whether or not they will be sellers or just promotional, but these embroidered ones will definately be hitting the shop...

Dsc00101_2

... I'll let you know when.

And I've just noticed that the Holiday Softie Awards are about to start - yeay! Find out more at Softies Central

It's the bers!

Hello, this is Macy here. Erm, I just wanted to say... Happy September. And also hello because Clara doesn't...

Oh Macy, move over... Okay, now it is Clara. Everything is fine again. Macy doesn't really know what she is talking about and she is a little bit very boring. And also look...

Dsc00098

... she is dressed like a pig. And you can never trust what a pig tells you. Never ever.

But... Happy September! It is officially the BERS! Yeay yeay yeay! Now we can officially, without being naughty or told off, look forward to winter and best of all, Christmas!

Dsc00095_2

Happy September, Happy September, Happy September oh ye-ay oh ye-ay! It's the bers, its the bers, its the bers... woo hoo! September, October, November, December!

And also, being a pirate is fun...

Dsc00097

Bye for now, love from Clara, and also from Macy who is sticking her snout at my belly button trying to say Oink!
