I love books. Tom loves books. And it seems that Matilda also loves books - perhaps more than us actually! She will quite happily sit and look through her books for 30 or 40 minutes, which is a godsend let me tell you! She rifles through them to find her favourites, slinging the less interesting ones over her shoulder and leaving piles of them all over the house.
She has recently mastered crawling with book in hand so there really is no stopping her now. It does appear that she might be living up to her namesake.
We've recently discovered the children's library close to our house and have made it one of our priorities each week.
Matilda just loves it. It really is quite lovely, full of books (obviously!), toys, little mini-person sized chairs, and in it's own enclosed room within the main library so you don't need to worry about noise.

Having recently discovered and been totally inspired by inchmark, I thought that I would borrow (okay completely steal, but I really hope she doesn't mind because I really love it) her idea of showing you some of our favourite books from our library visits.
This week one of the books we particularly enjoyed was The Beginner's Guide to Bears by Gillian Shields and Sebastien Braun.
I love the illustrations, so soft and beautiful.
It isn't particularly a story book but more of a rhyming look at teddies and what they get up to.
And this little insight into their lives held Matilda's attention, which is of course the most important thing!

Have you read Dr. Pompo's Nose yet? It is one of our favorites and I do all the voices!
